Auto Insurance Rates on the Rise AgainAuto insurance rates are on the rise again in New Jersey. The state which is already known for having some of the highest auto insurance rates in the country will see insurance rates go higher if the state approves the increases sought by insurance companies. Average automobile insurance expenditures in New Jersey was $1081. Louisiana was the second most costly average at $1,105 and Washington D.C. had the highest cost at $1,126. Gov. Chris Christie’s administration is proposing changes to bring auto insurance rates lower by overhauling New Jersey’s auto insurance rules to limit medical expenses for people injured in car crashes.
