CD Rates July 20, 2012: Best CD Rate Now at 1.10% APY

For the past month the top CD rate on our list of 12 month CD rates was from Doral Bank at 1.14 percent with an APY of 1.15 percent. Doral Bank recently lowered their 12 month CD rate to 1.09% with an APY of 1.10%. Now Doral Bank is tied with CIT Bank for the best CD rate on our list of 12 month CD interest rates.

While a rate and yield just above 1.00 percent isn't high historically speaking the rate is well above Bankrate's national average 12 month rate of 0.70 percent. The FDIC's national average 12 month CD rates at banks is even lower at 0.28 percent.

The second highest CD rate on our list is from Metlife Bank and Colorado Federal Savings. 1 year CD rates at both banks are going for 1.04 percent with an APY of 1.05 percent.

EH National Bank has the third best CD rate on our list. EH National Bank is currently offering 1 year bank CD rates at 1.03 percent with an APY of 1.03 percent. You might not have heard of EH National Bank. The bank is based in Beverly Hills CA and deposits at the bank are insured by the FDIC. The bank's FDIC's Cert number 57734.

Moving onto the fourth highest CD rate on our list we find Ally Bank. Current 1 year CD rates at Ally Bank are going for 1.01 percent with an APY of 1.02 percent. Ally Bank is the former GMAC Bank.

AloStar Bank of Commerce has the fifth top CD rate on our 1 year national rate list. AloStar Bank of Commerce's current 1 year CD interest rate is at 1.00 percent with an APY of 1.01 percent.

Two banks have the sixth best rate on our list. Ascencia Bank with is a division of PBI Bank and AbleBanking which is a division of Northeast Bank are both offering 1 year rates at 1.00 percent with an APY of 1.00 percent.

The seventh best rate on our list is from California First National Bank. The bank is offering 1 year rates at 0.93 percent with an APY of 0.93 percent.

The eighth best rate on our list is from AIG Bank, Virtual Bank, Lone Star Bank, E-Loan and Discover Bank. All five banks are offering 1 year rates at 0.90 percent with an APY of 0.90 percent.

Rounding out the top ten rates is USAA Bank with has the ninth best rate at 0.86 percent and OneWest Bank with a rate of 0.85 percent.
