Pentagon Federal Credit Union (PenFed) has some of the best certificate of deposit rates available these days. In fact, the certificate of deposit rates are some of the highest rates available from a credit union or bank.

Certificate of deposit accounts are insured for up to $250,000 by the National Credit Union Administration (NCUA) which is an independent federal agency that charters and supervises federal credit unions throughout the United States and its territories.
