30 year jumbo mortgage rates headed in the opposite direction. Current 30 year jumbo mortgage interest rates are averaging 5.33 percent, down slightly from an average 30 year mortgage rate of 5.34 percent. The spread between conforming mortgage rates and jumbo mortgage rates have come down considerably since the financial crisis. Historically the spread difference around 75 basis points. During the crisis the spread was near 200 basis points.
Current 15 year mortgage rates are also just above recent lows set this past week. Today's 15 year mortgage rates are averaging 4.21 percent, up from an average 15 year mortgage rate of 4.19 percent.
