Fixed Home Mortgage Rates Unchanged Freddie Mac: 30 Year Mortgage Rates at 4.37%, 15 Year Mortgage Rates at 3.82%

Mortgage rates were mixed in the most recent Primary Mortgage Market Survey released this morning by Freddie Mac. 30 year fixed home mortgage rates and 15 year fixed home mortgage rates were unchanged for week ending September 23, 2010. 15 year mortgage interest rates are still at a record low set last week. Adjustable mortgage rates were mixed for the week ending September 23, 2010. 5 year adjustable home mortgage rates were slightly lower and 1 year home adjustable home mortgage rates were slightly higher.  

Fixed 30 year mortgage rates are averaging 4.37 percent for the week ending September 23, 2010, unchanged from the previous week’s average 30 year mortgage interest rate. Average mortgage discount points on 30 year home loans remained the same at 0.7 points.

Fixed 15 year mortgage rates are averaging 3.82 percent for the week ending September 23, 2010, unchanged from the prior week’s average 15 year home mortgage rate. Average mortgage discount points on 15 year home loans was 0.7 points, up from the previous week's average of 0.6 points.

5 year Treasury indexed adjustable rate mortgages averaged 3.54 percent for the week ending September 23, 2010, down the previous week’s average 5 year adjustable home mortgage rate of  3.55 percent. Average mortgage discount points on 5 year adjustable home mortgages was unchanged at 0.6 points.

1 year Treasury indexed adjustable mortgage interest rates averaged 3.46 percent for the week ending September 23, 2010, an increase from the prior week’s average 1 year adjustable home mortgage rate of 3.40 percent.  Average mortgage points on 1 year adjustable home loans was 0.7 points, unchanged from the prior week’s average.
