Mortgage Rates Mixed Today 4/22 as More Americans are Pessimistic about the Economy: 30 Year Mortgage Rates at 4.86%

Current mortgage rates are mixed today as a New York Times/CBS News poll shows Americans are more pessimistic about the outlook and direction of the economy. Today's conforming 30 year mortgage rates are averaging 4.86%, up from yesterday's average 30 year mortgage rate of 4.79%. 30 year conforming rates in California are higher than the national average. 30 year mortgage rates today in CA are averaging 4.90%

15 year conforming mortgage rates are heading back down towards the 4.00% range. Current 15 year rates are averaging 4.09%, down from yesterday's average 15 year rate of 4.12%. Average 15 year conforming rates in Texas are slightly lower at 4.08%.

30 year jumbo mortgage rates are averaging 5.31%, down slightly from yesterday's average 30 year jumbo mortgage rate of 5.31%. 30 year jumbo rates in New Jersey are averaging 5.20%, 11 basis points lower than the national average rate.
