MonitorBankRates is a free, independent rate comparison site operated by Monitor Bank Rates LLC. We believe you should know how we make money and how that does and does not affect what you see.
Our Independent Rate Tables
The main rate tables on our pages, along with our rate averages, rate trends, health grades, star ratings and indexes, are built from rates we collect from the published websites of banks, credit unions and lenders and from public regulatory data. We do not accept payment from any financial institution to be included in these tables, to be ranked higher, or to receive a better health grade or rating. Institutions cannot pay to have their information removed or changed.
How We Make Money
MonitorBankRates is supported by advertising. Revenue comes from:
- Partner rate widgets. Some pages include rate comparison widgets provided by advertising partners, including Bankrate (myFinance) and iCanBuy. These widgets are labeled as advertising. We may be paid when you click an offer in a widget, request a quote, or open an account or apply for a loan through it.
- Display advertising. Some pages show ads served by Google and other ad networks. These ads may be based on your browsing activity. See our Privacy Policy and Your Privacy Choices page for how to limit personalized ads.
- Data licensing. Businesses can license our rate data, datasets and competitive intelligence dashboard. Data customers do not receive placement or favorable treatment in our consumer rate tables.
How Advertising Affects What You See
Within partner widgets, the advertising partner decides which offers appear and in what order, and compensation may influence that placement. Offers in a widget may not be the lowest rates available, and widgets do not include every company or product on the market. Our independent rate tables are separate from partner widgets and are ordered by rate or by the sort option you choose.
Compensation does not influence which institutions our editorial team writes about, the conclusions in our analysis, or how we calculate averages, health grades and ratings. For more on how our content is produced, see our Editorial Policy.
