Home mortgage rates will start heading down again when the Fed's purchases of Treasuries forces interest rates down. Right now fixed conforming 30 year mortgage rates are averaging 4.38 percent, up from last week’s average 30 year mortgage rate of 4.26 percent. 30 year conventional home mortgage rates and refinancing rates in New York are higher than the national average 30 year mortgage rate. Current 30 year New York mortgage rates are averaging 4.56 percent..
Freddie Mac just reported in their weekly Primary Mortgage Market Survey that mortgage rates have hit another record low.  Rates for a 30-year fixed-rate mortgage (FRM) averaged 4.78 percent and rates for a 15-year FRM averaged 4.52 percent.
Mortgage rates are up in the latest Primary Mortgage Market Survey released by Freddie Mac this morning. Fixed conforming 30 year mortgage rates are up to 4.75 percent for the week ending June 17, 2010, up from the prior week’s average 30 year mortgage rate of 4.72 percent. Mortgage discount points averaged 0.7 points, unchanged from the prior week.
