Current National Mortgage Rate Trends

The national 30-year fixed mortgage rate fell by 0.050 this week, bringing the current average down to 6.324%. Borrowers are benefiting from slightly improved conditions compared to last week, when the average was 6.374%.

The 15-year fixed rate — a popular choice for refinancing — eased this week to 6.003% from 6.041% last week. The spread between 30-year and 15-year rates currently stands at 0.322 percentage points.
