In the survey average 30 year conforming mortgage rates matched a record low set in July and average 15 year conforming mortgage rates hit a new record low for the week ending September 20, 2012. Current mortgage rates hit new lows on the heels of the Federal Reserve announcing another round of quantitative easing to drive interest rates and mortgage rates lower.
Mortgage rates fell again in this week's Mortgage Application Survey which isn't a surprise since bond yields were also lower this past week. The average contact mortgage rate on 30 year mortgage loans is down to 4.46% for the week ending June 24, 2011, down from the prior week's average of 4.57%. Average mortgage points on 30 year home loans increased to 1.19 points, up from the previous week's average of 0.91 points.
30-year mortgage rates increased slightly in this week's Mortgage Applications Survey released by the Mortgage Bankers Association (MBA). The average contract interest rate for 30 year mortgages rose to 4.92 percent, up from last week's average 30 year mortgage rate of 4.88 percent. Average mortgage discount points were down to 1.08 points from 1.17 points.
