Mortgage rates made new lows in 2011 as economic woes still plague the U.S. A weak unemployment report and weak manufacturing data released last week sent interest rates lower. Conventional 30 year mortgage rates are averaging 4.44%, down from last week's average 30 year mortgage rate of 4.54%. The current national average 30 year mortgage rate is now at a low for 2011 as reported by MonitorBankRates.com.
A few banks have been pretty active changing their CD rates recently. The Federal Reserve is scheduled to meet next week and will hopefully increase the fed funds rate. Once the Fed increase the rate many banks will follow and increase CD rates.
