Current mortgage rates on 30 year home loans is averaging 4.32% for the week ending August 12, 2011 , down from the prior week's average 30 year mortgage rate of 4.27%. Average contract rates are as reported the Mortgage Bankers Association. Average mortgage discount points on 30 year mortgages declined to 0.87 points, down from the prior week's average of 1.07 points
