Conforming mortgage rates have fallen to another new low this year. Average 30 year conforming mortgage rates are down to 4.16 percent this week, a decline from last week's average 30 year mortgage rate of 4.18 percent. This is the fourth new low for average 30 year rates in 2014. This is the first time in three months that average 15 year jumbo rates are below 4.00 percent.
Current Mortgage Rates: 30 Year Mortgage Rates at 4.02%Mortgage rates are higher today as 30 year conventional mortgage rates are back above 4.00%. Current mortgage rates on 30 year loans are averaging 4.02%, an increase from yesterday's average 30 year mortgage rate of 3.90%. Mortgage rates on 15 year home loans are averaging 3.31%, an increase from yesterday's average 15 year mortgage rate of 3.23%.

Despite comments in late August by Fed Chair, Janet Yellen, and NY Fed President, William Dudley, regarding a September rate hike, it didn't happen. The FOMC wrapped up their meeting yesterday and decided to leave the fed funds rate unchanged.
